The success and longevity of the sash window has meant that in many cases they have become tired, ill fitting with decades of poor or limited painting and maintenance rendering them seized.
An operating sash window by its very nature has to have gaps around it allowing its operation. This enables draughts and the ingress of dirt and noise along with annoying movement and rattles in the wind. Our full draught-proofing service does away with these problems along with removing much of the friction during operation. This is our most popular service.

The security and the tidiness of your home is very important to us and we make sure that the last jobs of the working day are to reinstall and secure the sashes and then vacuum/tidy the room to the state that we found it.

Poor re-glazing with modern heavier glass without adding more weight has left sashes unbalanced with top sashes unable to stay closed and bottom ones unable to stay open. The same goes for broken sash cords and pullys. We always replace the sash cord with new and re-balance the sashes and weights when working on them.
Poor maintenance and lack of painting can lead to rot ingress especially on the cills and bottom rails of the sashes. The sashes are easily removed enabling us to work on the sashes outside of the property greatly reducing dust. Work on the casement can then be performend from within the room meaning that scaffolding is rarely required.
After repair the window is fully prepped, often with the burning off of decades of paint. The sashes and casement are primed and painted in pieces then reassembled with our draught-proofing system.
